Kristen Livengood holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from UNC Greensboro, and has appeared onstage at Diana Wortham Theatre, Parkway Playhouse, HART, The Feichter Studio, and ACT. Some of her recent roles at Parkway Playhouse were Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors, Myrtle in The Great Gatsby, Amandine/Philomene in Amelie, and Aimee in The Humans. Some of her favorite directing credits include The Fox on the Fairway and Footloose for Parkway Playhouse and The Music Man JR, James and the Giant Peach JR, and Elf JR for Parkway Playhouse Junior. She is also the founder and director of Parkway Playhouse’s high school improv comedy troupe Get the Hook, who have been featured on the WUNC radio show “The State of Things” and have performed at the NC Comedy Arts Festival (2016, 2017), the AICFest (2019) and the New South Comedy Festival (2017-2019). She would like to thank the loves of her life, Graham, Grey and Etta, for supporting her as she continues to follow her dreams. She would also like to thank the amazingly talented cast, creative team and crew of A Good Day for all their hard work and the great memories!

Collin is a dance teacher in Burnsville at Dance and Karate Express where he has been teaching for four years. Dancing and performing are his passion. He has performed with Parkway Playhouse in Annie, Seussical the Musical, Peter Pan, and Amélie. Collin is also involved in Parkway’s education program. He has been the choreographer for many junior shows and taught classes in their conservatory program. He is delighted to be a part of this production and hopes it will spark joy in its audience members.

Lily Bartleson is a Burnsville, NC native! Growing up, she worked in theatre developing her passion; and, eventually went to Brevard College for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Studies. She has been with Parkway Playhouse since 2009’s The Music Man. Her last Parkway Playhouse appearance was as Trish/Governor Furgeson in Bonnie & Clyde. Other favorite performances include Pepper in Annie, a Mermaid in Peter Pan, and ensemble member for The King & I and All Shook Up. There are good days ahead – thank you all for joining us!

Thrilled to be back in the theater, Alesa returns to Parkway Playhouse after playing Cynthia in In the Middle of Nowhere at Magnetic Theatre. Her previous roles include Momo in The Humans, Vernadette Simms in Dixie Swim Club, Chief Inspector Hubbard Dial M for Murder, Ethel Thayer in On Golden Pond, Ouiser of Steel Magnolias, Amanda Wingfield of The Glass Menagerie, Ida May Combs in The Quiltmaker, Mattie Rigsby of Walking Across Egypt. Some of her other productions include Morning’s at Seven, Steel Magnolias, Oklahoma!, Our Town, Look Homeward Angel, Big River, My Fair Lady, You Can’t Take it With You, The Boys Next Door, and others. Alesa taught drama and english at Mountain Heritage High School, directing the drama department to as many as thirty regional and state titles awarded by the North Carolina Theatre Conference; some award-winning productions include: All in the Timing, Dancing at Lughnasa, the Laramie Project, Wit, The Rimers of Eldritch, Proof, The Diviners, The Sunset Limited, and more. Alesa is a native of Mitchell County where she lives with her family.

Ansley Caterson is super excited to be a part of this unique production, as well as return to theatre! Ansley has appeared in multiple Parkway Playhouse productions, including Mary Poppins JR, Peter Pan JR, Junie B.Jones JR, The Little Mermaid JR, and Dark of the Moon to name a few. Ansley attends Mayland Early College High School, where she will be graduating in the Spring. Ansley wants to thank her parents for supporting her on her theatre journey, and definitely wants to thank Kristen Livengood and the creative team for this amazing opportunity!

Leif got his official start in theater in the Parkway Playhouse production of Music Man Jr. directed by Kristen Livengood in 2016, and he has never looked back. He has since acted in several theatrical productions including James and the Giant Peach Jr. and Into the Woods Jr.

“Bert the Chimney sweep” was Leif’s first lead supporting role in Mary Poppins Jr. followed by the hilarious “Sheldon Potts” in Junie B. Jones Jr. His next role was as the lovable “Buddy” in Elf Jr. In his role as Buddy, Leif was nominated for “Outstanding Performance by an Individual” at the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta,GA.

He has followed this accomplishment with many dramatic and comical roles in High School drama and Parkway Playhouse, both Parkway Junior and Main Stage. He has had supporting roles in Bonnie and Clyde, the musical directed by Dwight Chiles and Oliver, directed by Erika Tyner. His most recent Main Stage performance was as “Hank Gudger,’ in Dark of the Moon directed by Jenny Martin. Leif is also proud to be a member of “Get the Hook,” Parkway’s very own travelling Improv troupe.

Additionally, Leif is an “All Conference” soccer player on the Mountain Heritage Varsity soccer team.
Musically, Leif was runner up in the innovative Parkway Playhouse online voice contest “Vocal Distancing” and he is an accomplished artist on both guitar and piano. Leif will be playing Matt in the upcoming Parkway Playhouse production of A Good Day directed and written by Kristen Livengood.

CoolHouseConnection by day, Thespian by night. Deb is likely to be caught ‘onstage’ at any hour or any opportunity. Acting in community theatre since she was 8, her Parkway Playhouse MainStage debut was Dark of the Moon, in the feisty role of Edna Summey. A member of Parkway Players Readers Theatre, she played everything from the ingenue in the The Rented Christmas to the high spirited comic relief in various Erma Bombeck sketches. Former stage acting credits included all the notable Old Main School Marms, Ms. Fern, Ms Frost, Ms Bury, Ms Sacrosanct and a turn at Peppermint Patty in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Her faithful sidekick, Sweetman faithfully attends each performance, always adapting his attendance attire to the indoor microclimate of our wonderful Playhouse! Deb and Jerry are also enthusiastic patrons of our local and expanded local theatre scene and are thrilled to be a part of all things Parkway!

Todd Gatts is excited and honored to be part of the worldwide theatrical debut of A Good Day. All of his acting experience has been with Parkway Playhouse, including Dark of the Moon, The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree, and All Shook Up. Parkway Playhouse has also given Todd a chance to run lights, run sound, and build sets, opportunities for which he is grateful. Apparently, were it not for Parkway Playhouse, Todd would be sitting at home doing nothing.

Born and raised in Burnsville NC, Maggie is 22 years old and has been in theatre since 8th grade. She has been in every show she could with Parkway Playhouse Jr until she graduated from Mountain Heritage High School in 2018, as well as the Parkway Playhouse mainstage productions Grease in 2016 & Oliver! in 2018.

Annelise Lewis is 10 years old and she is a fourth grader at Burnsville Elementary School. Annelise is a born performer! She has enjoyed taking dance classes at Dance & Karate Express since one week before her second birthday -that’s how she’ll say it if you ask her 🙂 She had the opportunity to perform with her dance company in Disney World in 2019!

Annelise started her acting career as a nine month old baby carried onto the set of a high school production of Annie (where her mom was a teacher). Her first Parkway Playhouse production was Winnie the Pooh where she played a bumblebee in 2016. She went on to perform as a snake, a monkey, and a vulture In Parkway Playhouse Jungle Book in 2017 and then as a student in the play Where is Miss Nelson??

Annelise also loves to play tennis, ride horses, swim, cheer for the Cougars football team (last spring), watch her favorite shows, play with friends, and she recently taught herself how to mountain surf on her boogie board -you’ll have to ask her what that means. Annelise has truly enjoyed working with the cast and she’s looking forward to performing A Good Day!

Daniel Moore

Daniel is a Mars Hill based Actor/Director who studied Theatre at Greensboro College. He has been an actor in the WNC community for well over a decade. Some of his recent acting credits include; Marvin in Dark of the Moon at Parkway Playhouse, Mendel in the NC premiere of Indecent by Paula Vogel at The Magnetic Theatre, he was also an actor and director for the dramatic series How to be a Human, or at Least Try at NC Stage. Other directing credits include Blades, Screens Can Only Do So Much, and Airport; all of which were featured in The Magnetic Theatre’s 2nd Annual One Act Play Festival. Daniel will also be directing The Legend of Sleepy Hollow premiering at Parkway Playhouse this Fall. Daniel first came to Parkway in the Summer of 2010 as an acting intern. His first featured production that year was Leaving Iowa. Daniel returned as an intern to Parkway Playhouse for the 2011 and 2012 seasons performing such duties as actor, assistant director, set designer, set construction, theatrical electrician, and administrative assistant. Being a WNC native and Parkway alum, Daniel has always had a special connection with the Playhouse that has lasted through the years and is sure to last many more.

Ellie Murphy is super excited she gets to be in her first mainstage show, A Good Day, at Parkway Playhouse. Ellie has been in many junior shows at Parkway Playhouse such as Junie B. in Junie B. Jones Jr, The March Hare in Alice in Wonderland Jr, Michael Banks in Mary Poppins Jr, and more. Ellie attends Mountain Heritage High School as a freshman and is 13 years old. In her freetime, besides taking classes and attending rehearsals for Parkway Playhouse, Ellie really enjoys soccer and cross country. Ellie would like to thank her parents for taking her to and from all of her extracurriculars and all of their love and support.

Hayden Price has been acting at Parkway Playhouse for three years and she is very excited to be in A Good Day. Hayden has acted in other productions at Parkway Playhouse such as Lennie in Junie B. Jones The Musical Jr. and Vinnie in Elf The Musical Jr. She attends the Stagemasters and Parkway Playwrights conservatory classes at Parkway Playhouse and when she is not acting or in school, Hayden enjoys spending time with her family and writing. She would like to thank her family for supporting her dream of acting.

Bella Rizzuto is very excited to make her acting debut as Sarah in Good Day. Bella is an 8th grader at Cane River Middle School. Bella enjoys her drama class in school and participating in Parkway Playhouse Conservatory classes. Bella’s other favorite activities include reading and drawing and she has recently learned how to embroider.

Jered is excited to be back at Parkway Playhouse. Jered’s first theater performance in western North Carolina was at Parkway. Jered has also acted with several theaters in the Asheville area including Magnetic Theater, Montford Park Players, and The Asheville Fringe Festival. Some of Jered’s favorite roles has been crab grass in Blades, Ken in Red, Cedric in Robin Hood and Roger in In a Clearing. Jered is privileged to work with so many talented actors and would like to thank his parents and Kristen for her fantastic direction and you for seeing the show.

Kai very excited to be in Parkway Playhouse’s “A Good Day.” She was recently in a few summer camps at Parkway, and was Deb in Elf jr. Kai had been at the Playhouse for as long as she can remember, and has always loved singing, dancing, and acting. She would like to shout out to her parents for always taking her to practices, and always dealing with her dramatic personality.

Austin Dakota Whitehead is thrilled to be returning to parkway playhouse after a three year hiatus. You may have seen him in Parkway’s productions of The Ballad of Frankie Silver, Grease, The Great Gatsby, Bonnie and Clyde, Footloose, and most recently Oliver! You may have also seen his costume design work in various main stage and junior productions here at Parkway Playhouse. He would like to thank his friends and family for their support, his late grandmother for always believing in him, and his babydoll for pushing him to get back into theatre.

Roberta Whiteside

Roberta is married to Bill Whiteside and resides in Burnsville NC. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University where she received a BM and MM in Vocal Performance. She has shared her love of music in the public schools of NC for 25 yrs and is, at present, employed in the Asheville City School System as Music teacher at Lucy S. Herring Elementary School. Previously, Roberta was Choral director at east Yancey and Cane River Middle schools for 18 yrs. Roberta is well known in the Burnsville area for her vocal jazz stylings and has often been seen in Parkway Playhouse productions: Dinah Grayson In Dixie Swim Club, Sylvia in All Shook Up, Clairee in Steel Magnolias and Vi in Footloose. She has been musical director for such shows as Big River, Nun Sense, Little Shop of Horrors and She Loves Me. Roberta has worked with Parkway jr. on several shows such as Peter Pan jr., Fiddler on the Roof jr., The Music Man jr., Mary Poppins jr., Elf jr and will be musical director for the upcoming show, Moana. She has been Minister of Music for numerous churches and, at present, is serving at Vians Valley Presbyterian Church where her husband is pastor.

Theo Henry participated in the Parkway Playhouse summer apprenticeship and is excited to have the opportunity to be a guide in A Good Day. As a child, he was in Parkway Playhouse’s 0liver and Fiddler on the Roof Jr. He has also been in many different Parkway classes. Theo is enjoying learning about the technical aspects of theatre and is excited to be working on lighting for future productions.

Mia Bennett is fourteen years old. She is so glad she could be a part of the show A Good Day as a guide! All of these people are amazing and so fun to work with. She has been doing theater at Parkway Playhouse for five years. Although she has never been in a main stage performance, she has still been on stage. She participates in conservatory classes and has been in a few showcases. She really enjoys theater and being able to act. She is planning on auditioning for Moana JR and doing more shows in the future! She loves the theater atmosphere and all the people, they are truly amazing. If you are thinking about doing theater, she would tell you to go ahead and do it, take a chance. Hopefully, you will love it!
