Our Town is showing here at Parkway Playhouse May 23-June 1, 2025! We reached out to actor Addison Amos, who is portraying Rebecca Gibbs, about her experience working on this production.
What’s your favorite part of this show and why?
I really enjoy getting to know everyone involved. Parkway has introduced me to so many people who I’ve loved working with, and this show is no exception.
What about this show do you think will stick with audiences?
The ending sits with you for a long time. It’s very heavy and very impactful. The aspects of the hurricane that Erika has gone out of her way to incorporate will also stick with the audience.
How excited are you to be working with this incredible cast?
I’m very excited to work with this amazing cast! Everyone is so talented. I love working with people who I have known for a long time, and with those who I have never met before. Glen even knows how to juggle!
What have you loved about working on this production?
I’ve loved the collaboration between the cast and the director. I love how everyone’s ideas are heard and are given the chance to appear in this production and make it unique.
How did you get into theatre?
My sister did theater in middle and high school, and I grew up watching her on the stage. Eventually, we had a family friend do a show here at Parkway, and I’m so glad we went to see it! Shortly after, I joined a summer camp, and I haven’t stopped since.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
Besides being at Parkway, I love going swimming in the South Toe River in the summertime. If you can find an area that is marked as “safe” since the storm, I highly recommend you go and get a pizza from Homeplace after!
What have you loved so far about working with Parkway Playhouse?
The sense of community is like no other. My favorite memories have been made at this theater, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’ve been given so many opportunities here that I am very grateful for, and I definitely wouldn’t be where I am now as an actor without this place.
