Sister Act is showing here at Parkway Playhouse May 29-June 7, 2026!
We reached out to Douglass Cordova, who is portraying TJ in this comedy, to find out more about him and his experience working on this production.
What part of this show is your favorite and why?
The song is about Pablo, Joey, and me because we get to be chipmunks.
What about this show do you think will stick with audiences?
The talent that everyone has, and the heart that the show is being made with.
What have you loved so far about working with Parkway Playhouse?
That they are understanding of your situation and will always have your back, no matter what.
How did you get into theatre?
I started my freshman year in high school, and worked my way up to playing lead last, and this is my senior year, and also branched out to working with Asheville Community Theater and now Parkway Playhouse! I always loved acting and being on stage though, I just did not get the opportunity to start earlier!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
Not from Burnsville, so I have yet to figure that out!

Tell us about yourself!
HI! I am Douglass Cordova, a current senior in high school. I love running, hiking, drawing, and anything that has art or exercise. I am committed to attending WCU next fall and very excited to join their Stage and Screen school for acting. Additionally, I am a first-generation student whose parents are from Guatemala, making me fluent in English and Spanish. I could go on forever, but you probably don’t want to read an essay about me, so this is it… for now!
