Sister Act is showing here at Parkway Playhouse May 29-June 7, 2026!
We reached out to Megan Weber, who is portraying Sister Mary Theresa in this comedy, to find out more about her and her experience working on this production.
What part of this show is your favorite and why?
Deloris teaches us to raise our voice, to be brave, and “let our freak flag fly”. Singing is so personal. When you sing, you open up and share your feelings. It can be scary. Everyone can benefit from her advice. I just love it.
What about this show do you think will stick with audiences?
This play is more than just a feel-good escape. Under the surface, it deals with the idea of a sanctuary for a woman in danger. She is embraced and protected by her sisters. They are a newfound family who love her and stand in front of her, putting themselves in danger with love and fierce loyalty to their friend.

What have you loved so far about working with Parkway Playhouse?
A top-notch group of professionals preserving the art of storytelling through theater is a treasure for Burnsville. We are so lucky!
How did you get into theatre?
I was born into it! My parents met in early television at Chapel Hill.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
Just getting from point A to B is a joy with beautiful mountains around every corner.

Tell us about yourself!
Paul and I moved to Cattail Creek almost three years ago when we retired. It was always our dream to leave Florida and enjoy the beauty and culture of WNC.
