If you are between the ages of 14 and 18 and want to explore the theatre, Parkway Playhouse’s High School Apprenticeship is a perfect venue. Apprentices grow and earn valuable experience that help towards future goals. Each apprentice is required to complete 80 hours of non-rehearsal/performance time at the Playhouse. At the end of the apprenticeship, each participant will leave with a certificate of completion, a thicker resume, some work experience, and fun summer memories!
Please note that we will only accept up to 10 apprentices per season. Even though this is an unpaid apprenticeship, we use the same criteria used to hire our professional staff. Only the most qualified and passionate of applicants are selected.
• Assisting with Parkway Playhouse Junior Summer Camps
• Set painting and construction
• Lighting and sound exploration
• Assistant Stage Management and backstage crew work
Applications for our 2019 Apprenticeship are due on April 5th, with interviews being held April 8-12. Our orientations and ‘welcome party’ will be held on April 20th.
