Jennifer Bueno grew up in Seneca, South Carolina. She received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1996, an MFA from Bard College in 2005, and an MFA from Alfred University in 2004. In 2005 she moved to North Carolina to be a resident artist at Penland School of Craft with her husband, Thor Bueno. After the residency, she and Thor decided to stay in the area and now live down the road from the school in Penland with their two children Odin and Hazel, dogs Jolene and Boozoo, and cat Willie Nelson.
Jennifer is a glassblower and designer for Bueno Glass, a company she and her husband founded in 2007. Together they create blown glass installations for residential and corporate clients. Locally you can see their work at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, NC, Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC, and Aloft Hotel in Asheville.
In addition to the collaborative work she creates, Jennifer has a solo career as a glass artist. She was featured in the Laurel of Asheville while in the show In the Landscape and Of the Landscape, at Momentum Gallery in Asheville.
She became involved with Parkway after her children started taking classes in the Conservatory. Theatre has become a passionate interest for her daughter Hazel who has been in several plays and classes.
