With the recent announcement from Parkway Playhouse to shift the 2020 season to 2021 amidst the pandemic, staff has been thinking outside the box for creative ways to continue to entertain the community. This has led to the development of “Vocal Distancing,” a new family-friendly online singing game show.
Eight singers who have been seen during Parkway Playhouse’s Mainstage Season within the last three years, will compete for 6-weeks from the safety of their homes to find out who is the audience’s favorite singer. Each singer has established a character persona that they will perform as, which will hide their true identity. While they are singing, clues about the performer will be posted over their character’s image. After each episode, audiences will be provided with a voting link via Parkway Playhouse’s Facebook and Instagram where they can vote on their favorite voice. At the end of the following week’s episode, the performer with the least amount of votes will be eliminated and revealed.
The performances can be seen on Fridays at 7:30pm on the Parkway Playhouse Twitch Channel beginning May 29th.
