What are these auditions for?

These auditions will be for our 2026 Mainstage Season, including Sister Act, Annie, Peter and the Starcatcher, the Appalachian Playwriting Festival Winner, Her Name Was Frankie: A Frankie Silver Story, our Reading is Alive program, our Fourth Annual Appalachian Playwriting Festival, and our 2026 Interactive Dinner Theater Productions.

When and where will these auditions be?

Auditions for Sister Act, Annie, Peter and the Starcatcher, and our Reading Is Alive program will take place on January 17, 2026 from 10am-4pm.

Auditions for our Fourth Annual Appalachian Playwriting Festival, Her Name Was Frankie: A Frankie Silver Story, and our 2026 interactive dinner theater performances will take place on May 2, 2026 from 10am-4pm.

Auditions will take place at The Mountain Heritage Center located at 113 Green Mountain Dr, Burnsville, NC 28714* (Across the street from Parkway Playhouse).

*Please note that if you’re using GPS to use the full address, rather than, “The Mountain Heritage Center” as there are other locations with the same name in WNC. 

What should I prepare for these auditions?

Before auditions, please fill out our pre-registration form here. 

Please come prepared with a one-minute monologue (not necessarily from the show being cast), 32 bars of sheet music for an accompanist for a musical audition (musical pieces from the show we are casting are acceptable, but not required), a resume, and a headshot. If you’re new to performing and don’t have the above items, no worries! Just come prepared to read sides. Sides are excerpts from the script.

If you are ages 9-12 and auditioning for Annie, no monologue is necessary. Please just prepare a song.

What if I can’t make it to auditions?

We’re accepting video submissions for shows through the audition dates for those shows. Please send your submission to [email protected].

Are these paid roles?

Mainstage Season roles ages 18+ will be paid a small stipend.

Do you offer artist housing? 

We’re unable to offer housing at this time.
