Reading Is Alive is an exciting, new outreach program for Parkway Playhouse.  Based on the theme, “Build a Better World,” professional actors will perform for students in the three-county region. They will be performing “The Three Little Pigs“, the musical based on the delightful children’s story written by Anthony Drewe. When the pigpen starts to look like a real sty, Mama says it’s time to leave and build something new. Help Cha, Siu and Bao watch for wolves while they use hay, sticks and bricks to make it in a big, bad world. Participating kids will get a Reading is Alive bookmark and a “Reading is Alive” book (according to grade and reading level).

Children who may have never experienced live theatre or owned a book will have an opportunity to participate in this collaborative project with Parkway Playhouse, Penland School of Crafts, and the Avery-Mitchell-Yancey Library System.
