Here at Parkway Playhouse, we’re dedicated to providing a high-quality theatre education for all students, regardless of financial need. In 2022-23, through donations, we were able to provide 22 scholarships for students, ages 5-18, for classes, camps, and productions.
Will you help us continue to provide these opportunities by donating towards this mission? Just click the button below to give and select “Parkway Playhouse Junior Scholarship Fund.”
These students are our future actors, directors, teachers, and technicians, and Parkway Playhouse is a space where they can feel accepted, make new friends, and have life-changing theatrical experiences and we’re dedicated to helping them succeed!

“My favorite part of being involved with the Parkway Playhouse is that we are a teaching institution, which allows me to work in my two favorite realms: theater and education.”
“My favorite thing about being at Parkway is definitely the people. We have such a strong family-like bond, and we’re always there for each other. I wouldn’t trade the memories or bonds that I have created since joining for anything!”
“The thing I love most about parkway is the community it’s created for so many of us. As an angsty teenager, it gave me a place to express myself openly and freely, and now as an adult it allows to me to continue making the art that I enjoy so much.
“I love the atmosphere of the Playhouse. It is such a beautiful building filled with life and energy. I love watching kids learn and grow and fall in love with theater.”
If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (rising 8th graders through rising seniors) and want to explore theatre, Parkway Playhouse’s Junior Apprenticeship Program is a perfect venue. Apprentices grow and earn valuable experience that helps towards future goals. At the end of the apprenticeship, each participant will leave with a certificate of completion, a thicker resume, some work experience, and fun summer memories!
Please note that we will only accept up to 10 apprentices per season. Even though this is an unpaid apprenticeship, we use the same criteria used to hire our professional staff. Only the most qualified and passionate of applicants are selected.
Available Opportunities:
- Assisting with Parkway Playhouse Junior Summer Camps
- Set painting and construction
- Lighting and soundboard operation
- Props and costume construction
- Assistant Stage Management and backstage crew work
For more information, please email [email protected] or call 828-682-4285.
