Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is showing here at Parkway Playhouse June 20-July 6, 2025. We reached out to actor Claire Riley, who is part of our ensemble, about her experience working on this production.
What’s your favorite part of this show and why?
I like when the little kids arrive at school for the first time and the teenagers terrify them but also later when they come together.
What’s your favorite book and why?
A couple of my favorites are Wonder and the Hunger Games series!
How excited are you to be working with this incredible cast?
It’s definitely exciting! It’s been very fun to collaborate with people of all ages. This is the first MainStage show that I have been an actor in, so it’s nice to work with a lot of talented adults alongside the kids.
What have you loved about working on this production?
Spending time with friends, getting to know them more, and being a part of something exciting!
How did you get into theatre?
I got into theater around four or so years ago. I joined an after-school theater class and I really enjoyed it. Soon after that I found Parkway!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
Other than going to Parkway, I enjoy going to App Java and the library.
What have you loved so far about working with Parkway Playhouse?
I have been with Parkway for about three and a half years now, and it continues to be a place where we can all express ourselves in a loving environment.
