Ordinary Days is showing here at Parkway Playhouse August 9-18, 2024! We reached out to actor, Lily X Bartleson about her experience working on this production.
What’s your favorite part of this show and why?
The intertwined stories between all the characters. It’s fun to see how small the world is and how life brings us together.
What about this show do you think will stick with audiences?
A lot of things: the reality of living in NYC in the early 2000s (if you were living there at the time), the fear of moving on through grief, the anxiety of finishing a grad school paper, the fear of not having a “big picture” or purpose in the world, and a fear of not being able to begin life with someone who isn’t ready.
How excited are you to be working with this incredible cast?
SUPER excited! They’re all kind, talented, and fun to work with so far. Can’t wait for the end product!
What have you loved about working on this production?
So far, learning these stories through song. Sometimes I wish I could sing how I feel and here I get to!
How did you get into theatre?
I told my mother I’d be an “entertainer” growing up, and at the ripe age of 10 I started working at Parkway Playhouse as a clarinet player in The Music Man. It’s been a long journey since then!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
I enjoy going to the shops in town. It’s important to support local artists, farmers, workers, and restaurants.
What have you loved so far about working with Parkway Playhouse?
Being able to have a space where magic can be made is irreplaceable. It’s been my home since I can remember. I’ll always enjoy working here.
