Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical is showing here at Parkway Playhouse June 20-July 6, 2025. We reached out to actor Wes Williams-Park, who is part of our ensemble, about his experience working on this production.
What’s your favorite part of this show and why?
I love the song Bruce because I get to do most of the singing as part of the children’s ensemble.
What’s your favorite book and why?
Wings of Fire because it’s about dragons and it’s a series.
How excited are you to be working with this incredible cast?
I am excited to be working with everyone but especially Ms. Roberta who is my music teacher in real life.
What have you loved about working on this production?
I’ve loved working on the choreography with Mr. Collin because I’m a dancer and this is fun!
How did you get into theatre?
Summer camp at Parkway.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the area?
Hiking, going to plays at Parkway, the Yancey County Farmer’s Market, and running around at Homeplace.
